Dance for me

A little something we put together the Wednesday before the show to get things off to a dancing start. We never really thought of ourselves as a dance band (still don't) but we love when people dance. It just makes you feel good all over, even if like me (the bass player) you can't dance. Sometimes you have to let loose a little, not worry about stepping on toes and just go for it.

I've never been impressed too easily. I've been called a music snob. It's true. So for me go and buy two albums after watching one video is pretty impressive.

Going Crazy in the Studio

The studio is a strange yet wonderful place. Emotions run high, tempers flair, hugs and high fives are passed around, praise is given to a great take, and creativity runs wild. Spending 12+ hours makes you go a little crazy. Sometimes it's the little things that makes it all okay. A rug, a fresh pot of coffee, and a little humor go a long way.

Brian Blade is an American Grace!

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for "Amazing Grace". This song has been sung and played so many ways and throughout so many years. It's a piece of American history. This version by the Brian Blade Fellowship is ridiculous. The band is amazing and Brian Blade is just out of this world. Hope you dig.

Recording My Friends with my friends

The process has officially begun. We don't have our old record that no one heard (that story someday). So we are working on a new one, in our new space, with our new producer and on our own terms. We are trying to capture what we do live on record. I know it's a cliché phrase, but it's what it is. We shall see what comes of it or maybe boom goes the dynamite.
